Deirdre's strong ties to Aiken began in 1977, when her family purchased their first winter home. She moved full-time in 1992 with her own young family, beginning her love affair with all things Aiken. Deirdre’s brother, Dacre Stoker, and sister Tara Stoker Bostwick, both live full-time in Aiken, and Deirdre’s children grew up in Aiken, attending Aiken Prep and Aiken High School, benefitting from the leadership and commitment of their teachers and coaches.
Deirdre’s deep connections to the equestrian world, combined with her background as an investment advisor, give her unique insight into Aiken’s specialized real estate markets and business community. She is a proud and long-time supporter of the things that make Aiken special including: Great Oak Equine Assisted Programs, The Aiken Horse Show in the Woods, The Vista Schooling and Event Center, Jumping Branch Farm and FOTAS – Friends of the Aiken Animal Shelter.
As a successful equestrian throughout her life, Deirdre has competed across multiple disciplines including hunter/jumper and now eventing up to the AEC Championship level. She often travels to the top equestrian events in North America, connecting with people who love equestrian sport.
